Bend Acrobatic Academy is dedicated to offering the highest quality Acrobatic Dance programs in Winnipeg. All programs are delivered with care and a focus on empowering each individual student to reach their personal best.

Founded in 2021 by Melanie Botelho-Urbanski, Bend Acrobatic Academy evolved from a side project Melanie started in 2017 called Bend With Mel. While also teaching acro dance at a studio, in her off time Melanie would run summer intensives, camps, workshops, & private training. In 2021 Melanie decided it was time to grow Bend With Mel into something greater and ventured out on her own to create Bend Acrobatic Academy. BAA now rents spaces around Winnipeg to run year-round classes, host summer camps, workshops, & private training, as well as offer in-studio experiences and competition choreography.

What sets Bend Acrobatic Academy apart is the caliber of training offered & the welcoming, positive, & inclusive atmosphere. With the popularization & growth in demand for acro dance in recent years, many dance studios now offer acro dance training. However, in Manitoba there is a shortage of certified and experienced teachers able to offer great acro programs. Bend Acrobatic Academy hopes to fill this gap and be a place open to anyone wanting to learn strong & technically sound acro from an instructor who knows acrobatics inside and out.

Bend Acrobatic Academy welcomes dancers from all studios, athletes of any kind, or anyone of any ability level looking to learn acro. At BAA it is all about helping students achieve their own personal best, and equipping them with the best training to do so.
